In Memoriam: Bruce F. Gilpatrick

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our senior partner Bruce F. Gilpatrick, Esq. on February 4, 2018 at the age of 61.

Bruce graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bernard M. Baruch College C.U.N.Y. in 1977 with a degree in political science and Fordham Law School in 1980 with a degree in law.

Bruce spent his entire 38-year legal career with HPM&B, serving in the New York, Stamford and White Plains offices.  He began working in the firm when he was in law school and then became the firm’s sixth lawyer upon his graduation.  Bruce and his wife Marian Gilpatrick were colleagues at HPM&B before they started their life together outside the firm.  Bruce is also survived by his children, Hannah and Jared Gilpatrick, and his mother, Elizabeth Gilpatrick.   

Bruce will be remembered by his colleagues as a true team player and a mentor to young lawyers. Bruce was professional, steady, and meticulous.  He was also the firm’s Santa Claus each year, befitting his good humor and his kind and gentle nature. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street. A Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Bruce on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., at Holy Spirit Church, 403 Scofieldtown Rd. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bruce’s life. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery on Rock Rimmon Road.
