Mandy M. McFarland

Mandy McFarland is a partner at the firm, and has represented numerous hospitals, practices and providers in the Upstate New York area.  She has handled all manner of actions, including complex birth trauma, surgery, misdiagnosis, medical error and consent issues.  Mandy has mediated and tried multiple cases to success.  Mandy has also represented many providers in matters involving the Justice Center, the Office of Professional Medical Conduct, and the Office of Professional Discipline.

Prior to joining the firm, Mandy was a partner at the firm of Thorn Gershon Tymann and Bonanni, LLP. She began her practice in civil litigation and appeals, concentrating in medical and hospital malpractice, as well as general personal injury defense.  Mandy spent several years handling all aspects of motion and appeal writing for the firm, achieving dismissal of numerous medical malpractice and products liability actions for a variety of issues. Later, Mandy branched out into handling all aspects of the defense of medical malpractice actions.

In Law school, Mandy was a member of the New England Law Review and recipient of the Women’s Achiever Award (‘98, ‘99, ‘00).  Upon graduation from law school, Mandy was an Appellate Court Attorney with the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department from 2000-2001.  Mandy performed extensive research and analysis of factual and legal principles and prepared draft opinions on cases to be argued or submitted to the court.  Mandy also assisted with preparing decisions on emergency applications and Orders to Show Cause.

Mandy is an active member of her community, the Town of Waterford.  She is a volunteer in Town and sits on the Board of Assessment Review.  Mandy is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, NYS Academy of Trial Lawyers, Capital District Trial Lawyers Association, and the Saratoga County Bar Association.  Mandy is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been named a Super Lawyer.
