Defense Verdict in Kings County
Michael Sullivan obtained a directed verdict in a Supreme Court, Kings County dental malpractice case on March 3, 2015.
The 49-year-old plaintiff underwent a tooth extraction by the defendant and claimed that the extraction was unnecessary. She claimed that the defendant should have offered root canal therapy as a treatment alternative and failed to obtain her informed consent for the extraction. Plaintiff claimed that as a result of defendant’s alleged malpractice she suffered significant post-extraction pain and an infection.
At the close of plaintiff’s case, the Honorable Karen B. Rothenberg granted Mr. Sullivan’s motion for a directed verdict.
