DEFENSE VERDICT IN LITCHFIELD, CONNECTICUT

On December 10, 2015, Heidi M. Cilano obtained a defendants’ verdict in Litchfield Superior Court in Litchfield, CT in a medical malpractice case brought against our client, an orthopedic surgeon.The plaintiff claimed that our client was negligent and careless in his treatment during knee replacement surgery.  Specifically, the plaintiff claimed that our client used the wrong sized components and misaligned them leading to severe instability, pain and discomfort, additional surgery, anxiety and depression and lost time from his employment.  The plaintiff also claimed that our client failed to appreciate and correct the lateral instability in his knee. Attorney Cilano proved through her client’s testimony and testimony from an expert witness tha tour client complied with the standard of care in performing a total knee replacement and that the need for a revision surgery within one year was not due to the alleged negligence.
