Defense Verdict In Suffolk County
Robin R. Dolsky won a defense verdict representing one of our major Long Island Hospitals and its Chief of Cardiology and the Director of Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
Plaintiff, a 43-year-old Physicians’ Assistant with a major blockage of the left anterior descending artery, claimed that he had to undergo bypass surgery because of negwligence during a stenting procedure performed by our client. Our defense was that plaintiff’s complaints following the stenting procedure were due to progression of his underlying disease and that it was plaintiff’s own decision to undergo bypass surgery rather than less invasive alternatives.
The jury deliberated for less than one hour (during their lunch break) before returning a unanimous defense verdict. After the verdict, the jury reported that should they or anyone they know need angioplasty, they would consult our client and expert.
