Laura S. Murphy Secures a Directed Verdict in Civil Court in New York County

Laura S. Murphy obtained a directed verdict on behalf of a podiatrist in a podiatric/medical malpractice case in Civil Court, New York County on April 19, 2022. Plaintiff claimed that  the defendants failed to diagnose, and properly treat, a fractured bone in her foot, resulting in the need for surgery, and permanent injuries.  At the close of plaintiff’s case, the Court granted the defendants’ motion for a directed  verdict based upon plaintiff’s expert’s failure to establish a prima facie case that the defendants deviated from the standard of care.
